One Year

Second semester has ended for us and that means in 3 weeks time, when we reenter college, we'll be seniors ):( I'm both kinda excited because I got to be faci (!) but I'm still sad from leaving the seniors today :( They've officially graduated from KYUEM and it's been nothing but great pleasure to be their juniors. Couldn't have asked for better seniors who have been so accommodating and so sweet to us! First sem we even watched Disney movies together dalam common room and we'd have our gossip sessions with Haniesha and how we wanted to get the dish on everyone in KY when we first got here. And now they're leavinggggggg, nuuuuu. Love them to bits and tiny pieces, insyaAllah I'll get to meet them in the UK and we'll be reunited (lol gag this sounds so cheesy). Can't wait though! I wish them all the success in the world and seeing their close bond throughout the year I've been with them, I genuinely wish them all the best and may they still be good friends in the years to come, amin.

This last week has been event filled ! We had our Garnet Farewell Party and our End Of Sem Dinner as well as the Graduation Day which was this afternoon. I had so much fun and I was just basically treasuring every moment with them. I can only hope that our batch can establish a close friendship with OUR juniors. A biiig family ! Can't wait for all the events that awaits us as seniors in the next semester. In the meantime, I'm going to relax and chill and calm down and zen. Oh, that reminds I need to get a pilates video and a yoga mat.

For our end of semester dinner, as usual, each house had to submit a video for the Video Competition. I had a great time filming it and though we didn't win (Congrats Topaz and Diamond!), I personally wanted the video to be more of a gift from the juniors to the seniors as opposed to winning a prize. Though winning is always kinda great.

I hope you enjoy !!!!!

First up! Garnet Farewell Dinner.

The theme for the dinner was 'Revolution In Time' and I dressed as a hippie girl.

Proof

The event was a success ! We were blessed with so many food and the deco was so good; thanks Zak, you pulled it off !!

It was a great time and opportunity to hang with our Garnet seniors who we are especially close to because of all the events. I love Garnet and it's so amazing how each and every event the college hosts, every student is just so dedicated to their respective houses and shows our semangat ! I selalu gila lose my voice from all the cheering (read: screaming).

Certs were given to the committee and at one point during Ram's performance, he was all choked up and I almost cried ! So emosi.

Performances daaaaamn good. Especially Olan, Hatim, Asil and Kanda's. They sang lagu... We Are Young eh ? Ok dah lupa but it was something everyone could sing along to. That was very cool, bruvs.

And there was End Of Sem dinner. DH is seriously the last place you would want to host an event at. The sound system was disappointing because you couldn't really hear the videos and it got noisy so we couldn't really hear speeches nor performances ('less everyone kept really really quiet) (in which they did because the performances were too damn good to be distracted away from).

I think the best part was definitely the performances. Each and every one of 'em was daaaaaamn good. I don't think I have any favourites because they were all equally amazing, but if I HAD to choose, I'd go for Kashif and Aidin's guitar playing. That was basically when the hall went silent for a good 5 minutes to listen to actual and pure music. LOVED IT. I saw the teacher's expression and it mirrored the students; they were all of awe. I wish someone had recorded it and posted it up on FB or something so I could see it again. The best !! I was blown away.

Oh and how can I forget the Coldplay performance. Zikri (a super senior) came down for a football match earlier with the seniors and juniors and decided to stay for the end of sem dinner as well. He performed 2 songs; Yellow and The Scientist. Damn, his voice can melt ANYONE. I thoroughly freaking enjoyed myself and found myself totally enthralled and fixated. SO GOOD SHAL.

And how can I forget the fact that GARNET WON HOUSE CUP ?!?!?!?!?!?!??????!!!!!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOH, so much love for Garnet and it could not have been a better gift for our Garnet seniors as they end their stay here in KY.

Then it was graduation !!!!!! I got really emotional, I don't know why. When Ram was awarded Best Scholar of the Year, basically the whole student body gave a standing ovation because seriously, he deserved it. Such a nice and cool guy (he beatboxes and is an avid gamer!) and he has been such a great House Captain for Garnet. Saw him teared up and Amal and I too teared up lololol. Well done, Ram !!! We're all so proud of you !!! :) :) Go kick ass in Cambridge !

Mum said a graduation ceremony is supposed to be somber and dull, but ours was not hahaha. We clapped and cheered and whatnots. It was quite entertaining. The emcee's would call out your name and followed by your sponsorship and the university you got into as well as your course. More than anything, graduation day was inspiring and is motivating me to go all out for my A2, insyaAllah.

LOOK !!!! MR CONQUEST IN A SUIT !!!

Love you seniors, wishing you every happiness and success wherever you go, God willing.
Take care and may we see each other again. God bless :')

Promenade

And a night full of tuxedos and long (and short) dresses and an epileptic dance floor (I'll get onto that later!), prom 2012 has ended.

  • Great company (booked a room with 3 others which was so fun because the room was nice and spacious and Amal and Sarah got up early so they went out for the breakfast buffet and bungkus-ed some things back for Mars and I :") sweethearts!)
  • Yummy food (the prom buffet was good though the desserts were so sikit and I didn't like any. Sad and disappointed Nadia is sad and disappointed).
  • Stunners go all around stunnin' (boys in tuxedos... please. Nothing beats boys in tux. And girls looking all glam and dressed up. So fun looking at everyone showing off their inner girly girl in them judging from their hair and makeup).
  • The epileptic dance floor. WEIIII I keep forgetting how much I love dancing. Daaaamn fun lah. But the lights were crazy ballssss. It was like camera flashes (like 100 flashes a second kinda thing) so the whole time I was dancing, it was as if I was looking at a stream of photos in a flipbook. SO cool beyond words but SO pening kepala hahaha. I had to take a break several times to make sure I wasn't going half crazy.
Overall I had a good time being in the company of my good friends though the prom was really for the seniors so we were just like guests that were just.. there.

Next year's prom is going to be so kick ass.

With my favourite bunch of juniors. They're mad hilarious.

This is secretly my favourite photo because we all look like Zati...

With the Prom King and Best Dressed; Amir and Hazeem :")

With Hanieshaaa

With my loverlies

Hoped the seniors had the time of their lives here in KY; they deserved it!

!

One week away to a 3 week holiday and to batch 14.0 being seniors :(

Today was the very last paper for our seniors and they're all done with their A-Levels. Today was also the day the new cafe opened ! It's so fancy shmancy although the food is still... cafeteria food. Ah well, I can't expect a buffet anytime soon for our 15 minute breaks. Let's not get too ambitious.

Our compulsory first photo at the new cafe. Lol

... and Olan.

And yesterday we had a mini photo shoot for English Literature where we had to take photos from a scene from Jane Austen's 'Sense and Sensibility' (in which I'm extremely slow in reading. Bah humbug). Twas fun though I was so not dressed as someone from the 1800s. Austen would disapprove !

This is the scene when Marianne falls and Margaret helps her. Shall we guess who plays who ? ;)

Mun being her usual fabulous self. My favourite person to be all "gurrrrrrrl" with!

Next week will be hectic with the farewell dinner and the end of semester dinner and of course the Graduation Day for the seniors who will be leaving college officially by next Saturday. Can't believe it has already been a year here in college. Passes by like nothing else. I'm going to miss the seniors ! :( :( InsyaAllah if and when things go well, we'll all be reunited in the UK kelak :")

Last Wednesday was Western Night and it was chicken chop so Irsyad made a speech in the midst of dinner and went all sentimental about chicken chops hahaha though it was evident that after that speech, Hazman or someone else handed him 10 bucks because he actually managed to attract the student body with his light hearted speech and how it was the senior's last time eating KY's chicken chop.

To any seniors reading this blog,

Thanks for being the best seniors one can ask for and by that I mean, thanks for being a group of people who have been nothing short of nice and oblivious to the social conventions of seniority or whatever. This college treated everyone the same and it was nice being in that environment for a change. Made so many new friends this year, and not just amongst my batch mates. First 2 weeks were induction and let's just put it out there that it was quite scary and torturous (ok, over) but I've made close friendship with the seniors especially Gamii, Pash, Shu, Prem and Haniesha :) Thanks for being the best everrrrrrrr; with our Disney movie nights and gossiping sessions !

Sincerely hope that every one of my seniors will get the opportunity to fly towards what they've been working very hard towards to. I can safely say that my batch looks up to you and it's inspiring with what you have achieved and we can only look forward, God willing, to see you in the UK.

God bless and take care, my dear seniors.

Goofball

Above is our 'Zati' face. Lololol. Sorry darling :*

This is our 'Wei lek' face.

This is Marissa. Stayed in my chalet watching That's So Raven til 2 in the morning. Love this girl !

Home sweet home !

Just got back from Bangsar with Mum for brunch. Got myself some new things. Mmmm I love new things. Especially when it's shoes. Because God knows it takes me forever to get new shoes. My Ferragamos are dyinggggggg. High time to get new Varina's ? Heh heh

I've been thinking of the new things I'm gonna go for my bedroom so I'm wondering if any of you reading this know any place that has nice furniture ? I don't want to be limited to just Ikea (though I'd probably end up with like 99% things from there). Please do tell ! :)

Prom in a week. So unsure now.

Gala

So first and foremost, happy belated birthday Sheema Sheemz!!!!! :) The ninja chaletmate but so lucky to have you :*

It's Day #1 of my fasting debt and I actually managed to wake up and bersahur. A feat !

Besides the hot weather and all of us melting slowly but surely, there's nothing else that's new. Classes are slowly beginning and it's so tiring. Feel so mleh everyday. Every Monday mesti dah looking forward nak balik rumah haahaha.

About a week to prom and 2 weeks til graduation for the seniors. And a month (give or take) til we become seniors.

Wei lek lek lek.

Today was our swimming gala too ! Every team won something so yay to all 4 houses!

See you in the next post ! x

"Baaabe~"

"Twinsies!!!!!!!"

Prom shopping was so much fun !! Managed to book an appointment with Mac and bought a cute top from Forever 21 and scored earrings.

  • Walked  to Farenheit to check out Charles & Keith only to realise there's a store in Pavilion itself so the running was VERY UNNECESSARY thanks Mars :*
  • Found a watch like mine only this time it was all leathery and gorgeous-y. And it's tanned. I LOVE TANNED BAGS/SHOES/WATCHES/PANTS.
  • I need that watch. Mental note for future birthday present - TICK!
  • Was thisclose to buying everything else in MbMJ.
  • Couldn't get my hands on any decent looking wallets around :( I miss my Miu Miu.
  • Saw so many kids in their 'hipster' getup like cameras as big as their faces and shades and walked in groups of 20. And we're like "Ahh youth" cheh bajet cam dah tua 25 tahun wei lek lek
  • Topshop you've disappointed me in ways more than one. So boring and blah and I think it's high time you bring in some new things.
  • Cotton On messy as my room. And that's really really messy; threw me off. EVEN FOR ME.

And Rasta with the rest but not without karaoke time in the car with these 2 crazies.

What a good Saturday :) x
